Modus Mécanique (2015)
An Experimental Ballet with Printing Presses and Percussion
This site-specific performance installation explores the intersections between body and machine, ephemera, and the archive, music, movement, memory, and materiality. Integrating music, dance, performance art, and a live printing demonstration.
Explored the sounds of each instrument to be used in the printing of the score, designed a musical score including custom notation representing the unique texture and rhythmic cadence of each instrument. The score was performed in real time with music and dance accompaniment. And at the conclusion of the performance, each audience member was given a copy of the printed score.
